Dusk, Madison Square Park

For the first few after I moved to New York I felt pretty claustrophobic whenever I was outside, Manhattan buildings have a way of towering over you when you're not used to them. Here's a stab at recreating that feeling:

Back in June I posted a photo that I took at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, with a note that I'd like to go back and try again. A few weekends ago I took a walk through Central Park with the N80 and tried again. This time I was a lot more careful about what I was putting in the frame.

Tourists outside a church on Fifth Avenue. The depth of field is a bit short, but otherwise I think it's an interesting shot.

Little Italy

While walking through a street festival in Little Italy over the weekend I came across this guy smoking a cigar and observing the action from a distance. I asked if I could take a photo and he said sure, when I showed it to him he laughed and commented, "I look like a mafioso".
